Summer means it’s road trip time!  We all know what a challenge it can be to eat healthy foods while traveling.  Regardless of whether we’re traveling a shorter distance or all the way across country, some planning and food preparation will go a long way to ensure blood sugar levels are properly maintained and everyone’s in a good mood.  Make sure to include foods your family enjoys and variety is always a plus.  Of course, it’s important to keep a large cooler in the car so your snacks will remain at a safe temperature.  Also, prior to your trip, check out restaurants along your route that offer healthier food fare.   Happy trails to you!

Here are some snack ideas that are not only tasty, but nutritious as well:

Celery sticks and peanut butter (or any organic and raw nut butter, such as almond, cashew, walnut, etc.)
