We’d like to share this delicious grain-free pizza crust recipe today originated by Alli Shircliff .  Who would ever imagine that this delectably rich  crust is made with cauliflower?  For those of us who love pizza, but are watching our starchy carbohydrate intake, this is a dream come true!  You can serve with your favorite sauce and toppings.

Delicious Grain-Free Pizza Crust Recipe


1/2 head cauliflower, coarsely chopped

½ cup shredded Italian cheese blend

1 egg

1 teaspoon chopped garlic

Salt and ground black pepper to taste


Place cauliflower pieces through the feeding tube of the food processor using the grating blade; pulse until all the cauliflower is shredded.

Place a steamer insert into a saucepan and fill with water to just below the bottom of the steamer. Bring water to a boil. Add cauliflower, cover, and steam until tender, about 15 minutes.

Next, transfer cauliflower to a large bowl and refrigerate, stirring occasionally, until cooled, about 15 minutes.

Once cauliflower is cool enough to handle, wrap it up in the dish towel and wring out the excess water.   You want to squeeze out as much water as possible.  This will ensure you get a chewy pizza like crust instead of a crumbly mess.

Preheat an oven to 450 degrees F.  Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicon mat.

Stir Italian cheese blend, parsley, egg, garlic, salt, and pepper into cauliflower until evenly incorporated. Pour mixture onto the prepared baking sheet; press and shape into a pizza crust.

Bake in the preheated oven until lightly browned, about 15 minutes.
Remove from oven and place your favorite pizza toppings on top of crust.

Then pop the pizza back in the oven and broil for about four minutes.  YUM!!!

Some helpful hints for toppings:   You can use a tablespoon of marinara or pesto sauce, caramelized onions, cooked chicken coated in marinara and seasoned with Italian seasonings and garlic, cooked Italian sausage, and a half cup of shredded mozzarella.
